LIONS CLUB “WE SERVE” AWARD NOMINATION
Nominees: Sergeant Robert Edmonds and his wife, Alycia Edmonds
Dear Awards Committee,
It is with great pride that I nominate Everett Police Sergeant Robert Edmonds and his wife, Alycia Edmonds, for the Lions “We Serve” Community Service Award. Their extraordinary dedication to planning, organizing, fundraising, and executing the highly successful Shop with a Cop event on December 17, 2024, at the Everett Walmart embodies the true spirit of the Lions’ motto, "We Serve."
This remarkable event, spearheaded by Sergeant Edmonds and Alycia, brought together over 50 police officers and civilian volunteers to brighten the holiday season for more than 200 children in our community. Through their tireless efforts, they ensured that each child experienced the joy of shopping with an officer, selecting gifts, and forming positive connections with local law enforcement.
Sergeant Edmonds demonstrated exceptional leadership, managing the intricate logistics of the event while rallying support from his colleagues, local businesses, and community organizations. His ability to inspire and mobilize such a large team reflects his deep commitment to serving Everett’s families and fostering unity within our community.
Alycia Edmonds was instrumental in the success of the event, using her organizational expertise to oversee key aspects, from coordinating schedules to creating a welcoming environment for families and volunteers alike. Her dedication, compassion, and behind-the-scenes contributions ensured that every detail was handled with care and that each child felt valued and celebrated.
Together, Sergeant Edmonds and Alycia exemplify what it means to serve selflessly. Their efforts in bringing the Shop with a Cop event to life not only created lasting memories for the children but also strengthened community ties and built trust between law enforcement and Everett’s residents.
This incredible initiative stands as a shining example of the values the Lions “We Serve” Community Service Award seeks to recognize. Sergeant Robert Edmonds and Alycia Edmonds are truly deserving of this honor for their outstanding contributions to our community.
